I finished the 'Glo Cakes' painting for Angela's charity auction! See her reaction here. (You'll need to scroll down a bit)
So now that is done I have a few paintings to finish up to post in the next few days. I might be a little slow now as tomorrow is my birthday yay! So no working for me, hubby has the day off so we will be working on our garden and enjoying time with family.
Have a great Bank Holiday (UK'ers) and hopefully I'll get to post some pics for you over the weekend.
Today I went down to the local exhibition I'm in to see how things were going and I was very pleased! There is still a week to go and many of the paintings there had red dots and a lot of the cards and prints were sold too. It's so great to see people are still buying art in this economy, art really does have importance in people's lives. I always enjoy hearing how art impacts people, how does art impact your life?
Today I've been working on some new paintings, including the Oh She Glows Charity auction painting and new ones for ebay :D I'll be posting pics soon.
It's another beautiful day today, I just love it when the sun shines, makes you feel so good ( even when you don't always feel that way in the natural).
I've had another bad cold so while home resting I decided to do another of Polly's yoga videos, she is so great and her yoga workouts make me feel energised and refreshed - even when I have a bad cold!
I do suffer with IBS on a daily basis and am working on eating healthier simple foods to a) become much more healthy and b) to relieve my IBS symptoms. If you suffer with IBS then this resource is great: Help for IBS
After doing so much walking the other week, I've had to start easing up as my foot injury from last summer (I fell and chipped a bone in my foot) so I'm doing shorter walks with Ellie and Hubby and I'm now going to be doing yoga hopefully daily if I can. I'd love to know if any of you have any great healthy recipes , let me know by leaving a comment!
I'm working on some new paintings this week, including a really fun painting for the Oh She Glows Charity Auction and some more for Ebay too, so watch out for those this coming week.
I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend and the sun is shining for you.
Hi Everyone, I hope you all made it here and will update your bookmark for me :) I'm still working things out over here (like how to get rid of those bullets in the sidebar, any ideas please let me know!) but hopefully will be all sorted very soon.
Here is the 2nd part of my Wool Painting video (Painting is now at St Mary's Exhibition, Hadleigh yay!)
Questions for you: Are you entering any exhibitions this year and if so when/where? What techniques would you like to see me do in my next video? What are you doing this weekend?
*Edit: I did not create this video, I thought I would share it with you all as it has such a great message and is so fitting for how I am feeling right now. I found it on Mystele's Blog and it is by Tanya Davis.
For the last year since we've had Ellie I've been on a mission to change my lifestyle by losing weight and improving my fitness and so far it's going great. I've lost 24lbs so far and my fitness has improved a lot! Now I'm ready to step it up and so I've been walking a lot further and can already feel the benefits. I'm integrating more healthy foods and cutting down on processed foods gradually and I love it. I've found Angela's blog a real inspiration and have even tried my first 'Green Monster' today which tasted lovely.
I've added a widget here to track my walking progress, currently I am walking 2 miles per day and I want to increase that gradually and add in some yoga (love yoga!) and weights to gain strength. So no excuse now for not doing it lol you can all hold me accountable ;)
Don't worry this is not going to change into a fitness blog, I just wanted to post a bit about what's going on round here and encourage anyone who is also working on improving health through a healthy lifestyle and not crash dieting. So please feel free to email me or leave a comment and we can encourage eachother.
Back to painting ...

P.S I bought some carrot and tomato seeds the other day, I already have germinated the tommy's and they are doing great (pics to follow), haven't started the carrots yet so if you have any growing tips I'd love to hear them. xx
This weekend saw many wonderful things including the delivery of lot's of materials to start landscaping our back garden (very excited about this!) and Hubby finished the planter he made for my sweet peas. He made it out of used pallettes and stained it black, I think it looks awesome. We planted out my sweet peas Saturday afternoon and covered them with bubble wrap in the evening as we're still getting some frost. I am so pleased they have made it this far and can't wait to see them growing more and more.
As you can tell I am hugely inspired by nature and have created this pretty painting as a follow up to Spring Time...
