Amazing what new photos can do

eggcupscloseup

You may have noticed quite a few changes happening in the shop lately?

I have been busy re-taking my photos and learning to make them a lot better. I still think they need improving more but hey it’s progress!

I’m so into drawing and using ink and watercolours right now and am excited to share with you my latest ink cards available.

I’ve got some in the shop and if you want to see all of them they are in my Facebook album. It’s taking me a while to get them all photographed. Oh yes, these are the ones I showed in my last video.

I also wanted to share with you this photo I took of my original drawing ‘Quackers over you’ because I was thinking, it might be hard to imagine what you might do with one of my ACEO cards if you are not used to the whole ‘scene’, so here is an example for you, which I think shows off the beauty of small art.

Pretty huh?! Whilst I’m not selling them framed, this gives you a great idea of what my ACEO’s can look like framed in your own home.

I’ve been wanting to get more new art in my shop but I’m working on a big project atm for Church so I’m a little behind, but I’m making notes/sketches until I can sit down and work on them properly. I promise you’ll be the first to know when they are available, until then..

Homeward Bound

home1blog

There is nothing like the feeling of coming home. Even when you’ve been on holiday getting into your own bed is so lovely!

I kind of feel like that right now as I delve deeper into drawing, I feel like I’ve come home and am where I am meant to be. The more I draw the happier I am.

I hope you will enjoy this new illustration ‘Homeward Bound’, created on buff cartridge paper using dark brown ink and matted.

Find it here in my shop.

Time for Change…

openstudio

Here I am in my studio, wearing my new money belt I made out of a vintage pillowcase. It was so much fun, pity you can’t see the lovely vintage buttons I sewed on the side. Pink, olive green and cream ones.

So many changes happening right now for me and all good ones where my art business is concerned. I feel like my focus is getting clearer and my inspiration is being refined and increasing which is so much fun!

I’ve been loving making these new ink illustrated cards and have some new ones for you to check out…

Along with new creations, I’ve been thinking a lot about where I see my business going and how I can refine things to reflect where I want to take things.

Communication has been something I’ve been wrestling with for a long time. I’ve always been focused on connecting with my customers in a meaningful and inspiring way. Being in business for yourself is by no means easy and it’s been very easy to fall into the trap of following the crowd when it comes to social media. I’ve had my Facebook account for a long time but had been considering leaving for many months. With such a sea of information coming at you everyday it’s just brain numbing at times to be honest. I needed to find a better way for me.

So today I deleted my Facebook account. It’s time for me to get back to communicating with you in other ways, including being more active here. I’m still on Twitter but I mostly want to share things with you via this blog and my email list where you can share with me too in the comments and I think it’ll be so much better.

Please don’t think I’m judging people who do use Facebook, it’s just not for me anymore and I hope you will still stop by and enjoy chatting with me here, or email etc.

I’m excited to proceed and also to have far more time to create things for you!!

Many Blessings,

nikisig
