IF ‘Carry’

I thought it would be fun to start taking part in Illustration Friday’s prompts, so here is my first for the word ‘Carry’.

The bee carries the pollen from flower to flower, doing it’s job in nature.

The colour palette for the wild flowers was inspired by a gardening programme I watched the other day, Alan Titchmarsh’s ‘Love Your Garden’. I thought the colour of the plants they chose to make over this families garden was so stunning I wanted to use it in my painting.

This painting was done on beautiful birch plywood chunky canvas and will be available from tomorrow, along with prints of the image.

Stickers!

When I was a kid I loved stickers, I’d stick them all over the place and not much has changed since I’ve got older

So, I’ve been plotting to bring you stickers of my art for a while but wanted them to be extra special and that time has finally come!

These sticker sets are made just like my prints but with adhesive backing. They aren’t waterproof so don’t go sticking them to things you know might get wet like envelopes!

They are matte and really great quality images, I’ve stuck a load of them all over one of my Moleskine sketch books lol.

I have two sets available “Cuties” which has 10 stickers of my landscapes and characters and “Cupcakes” which has 8 cupcake images.

Happy New year!

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a great New Year’s Eve? We spent Christmas with family and New Year’s snuggled up watching movies, so all in all a great time.

I’ve been thinking how I want to take my art this year and am still working on some new ideas, in the meantime I have three new cards sets available for you. These are one off sets so only one of each set available.

Thinking of Spring

Yes I did just really say that lol! I love Spring it’s my favourite time of year. I look forward to all the new growth especially as I love to grow my own plants from seed. The coming year will bring experiments in growing vegetables for the first time which will be exciting.

I also love the colours in Spring, the blue skies and the sound of the birds. So these drawings are inspired by those things…

The first is a new card in my kraft card original illustrations range and the second is a new 10 x 8” drawing. It’s my favourite yet!

Hope you are doing well and not too stressed from the preparations for Christmas. This week has been an emotional one so I took some time off to relax a bit. We’ve come out the other side though and I hope you will enjoy these new offerings now in the shop.

It’s not too late to order in time for Christmas if you live in the UK. I’m still taking orders through Christmas and the New Year and open for commissions at this time too.

This is my favourite of my illustrations so far, I just love drawing snowmen and of course their animal friends

The buff colour of the paper makes the drawing really stand out and will look beautiful framed.

Tree of Hope

I am so excited about this latest drawing ‘Tree of Hope’. I’m so inspired by trees right now and the beautiful colours of the leaves this time of year. I thought it would be cool to add some collage to my pencil drawing and it works so well!

It’d hard to see from this picture but when you head on over to Etsy I have a great close up of the flowers which shows them in their sparkling glory. I used some gold paper and it looks so festive and special.

Whimsical Drawings…

I’ve always been passionate about drawing. Since I was a little girl and would sit for hours working on a drawing. As I grew up fears crept in and I ended up putting it aside for many years. Once I started up painting in 2008 I got back to drawing and haven’t looked back since.

Just lately, I’ve been doing a lot more sketching for ‘The Journal Project’ and sketching at Church too. So I decided to start offering my drawings in my shop for you, a whimsical treat to adorn your walls which is something different from my paintings

This was so much fun to work on and very calming.
