Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and a great New Year’s Eve? We spent Christmas with family and New Year’s snuggled up watching movies, so all in all a great time.

Mum and I have started going to a different Cafe than our usual one and they have the most delish cake ever!! They call it St Clements cake, it’s lemon and very yummy. I will admit to having *tried* it on more than one occasion lol and can assure you it is very good :D
So many fond memories are created while having coffee (and cake ;) ) with friends and family and this new painting is a celebration of that.

I am having great fun experimenting on different surfaces and lately I’ve been painting on hardboard. It’s great, and I can see me using it quite often from now on.
I’ve decided to get back on ebay regularly and so have some paintings listed including the above ‘Love is in the Air’. I’m hoping to add new paintings every week from now on and I’ll be continuing to update my other stores. Time seems to fly in between blog posts, before I know it a week has gone by!
I’ve been painting my heart out with Wintery inspired paintings, I still have more ideas and I wonder just how many paintings of Winter you actually want to be seeing lol :D
The above painting has come about through my Faith. We all want to feel safe, it’s something in our hearts that yearns to be satisfied. We try everything we can think of (chocolate, shopping, etc etc) to divert our attention, but really all we want is to be loved, accepted and to feel safe.

Do you ever feel like hiding? Perhaps you keep your ideas to yourself for fear of being laughed at? Or perhaps you don’t let yourself go fully when you are around certain people because you fear you might be judged?
For many years I’ve hidden my true self, only allowing people to see the parts of me that I was ok about sharing. I’ve always been pretty shy and preferred to keep my thoughts and ideas to myself when around others. I even held back with my art for fear of not being ‘good enough’.
Well, on Tuesday I had an amazing experience with God that has released me from a lot of negative thoughts, bad self image and depression that had been looming over me for several years and just recently had become a lot worse. I allowed God to work in me and completely surrendered to Him knowing I could no longer ‘fix’ this myself.
Since then I feel ‘me’ again, I am free of those negative thoughts and feelings about myself, the past doesn’t hurt me anymore and I feel light and free to be me. I can’t tell you how good this feels. I painted ‘Stop Hiding’ last week before my miracle happened and now I believe it is the perfect message that when you step out in faith you will be rewarded.
Trust and be yourself, the world needs you to!

On Saturday it was the Big Day! The day I turned 30. The start of a new decade, boy that sounds scary :0 Still I’m sure God has great things in store for us so I won’t complain.
I had a lovely huge cake which Mum in Law made (Thank you!) and it took me quite a while to blow out all those candles lol
Thankfully the rain held off till later on so we were able to enjoy a lovely BBQ with family and friends. A very blessed day all round.

‘Sweet Hearts’ A cute little painting on wood, with a touch of vintage. I used vintage style collage papers to make the flowers and finished it off with some glitter (of course ;) ) and an antique wash. Ahh love, makes the world a much better place don’t you think?
The outpouring of love shown to me over the weekend really touched my heart, it’s wonderful to know so many people care. Sometimes we think that ‘we aren’t enough’ or ‘nobody cares’ and it’s hard to dig ourselves out of that pit. I’ve fallen in many times and probably will again and again, but I know that people around me love me and that they are always there to give me a hand up and a lovely warm hug.

On Sunday afternoon I told you of our lovely walk by the river, the sky was blue and the sun was shining, it was truly glorious.
So, inspired by this beautiful day I created ‘By the River’. I added some little cuties and an extra special touch by using twinkling H2O paints for the river and of course a little glitter ;)

First there was Art Club at ours on Saturday, we made ATC’s which was great fun and great therapy for me.
Then after a great service at Church on Sunday we enjoyed the gorgeous weather and planted these beauties…
I love these large bellis (I call them puffs lol) and my mini daffs and pink primroses.
Our front garden is starting to look lovely again at last!
While Hubby planted those beauties for me, I baked some more apple sauce muffins and Ellie happily chomped on her bone.
The weather was so gorgeous Sunday we enjoyed a lovely long walk by the river and then came home for dinner before rushing out to our Churches evening healing service.
Today it was back to work, which I am very happy about! I got right back into painting and created another cutie for you to enjoy which I’ll be listing on ebay tomorrow, so look out for a blog post on that.
This short break has really helped me to see life differently (even more than usual), I’m always pondering but I felt like God has been really teaching me that I can completely rest in Him, have peace and enjoy everything He has given us…I fully intend to!

I’ve been working on this little cutie over the weekend ‘Love Me Always’. It’s the first in my ‘Sweet Heart’ series and I am so excited to be working on these adorable little lovebirds.
I’ve always loved everything cute and it just seems to come naturally that I paint in this way. I do love to experiment now and then with ‘grown up’ ;) paintings but I always come back to ‘cute’. I guess that’s just ‘me’.
It’s fun getting to know yourself and what you love to do, it’s been a long journey to finally be free with my style and really listen to what it is I love. Now I’ve found my style I feel freer to express myself (sounds an odd thing to say) but it’s true. I feel like I can sit and draw without judging myself and let out what it really is I want to express. I guess that’s a good tip for all of us – when we allow ourselves to be truly ourselves and stop judging ourselves, it’s then that we can be free and our true expression comes out. Not only that but when we are truly being ourselves, then we feel happiness.
We all need to express ourselves and share how we see the world and how we would like others to see it too, in whatever form that comes in for you; art, ceramics, photography, gardening, baking etc etc.
So remember, we want to see your view, embrace it and be happy!

Art has always been part of my life one way or another. I’ve always wondered what impact art has on people and have always wondered how I could make a difference in the world to help people.
Today my desire to help others is bigger and stronger than ever and I’m thinking about how I can do that.
What ways has art impacted your life either in creating it, learning about it or buying it (from anyone)?

I’m finishing up in the studio for the last of my Christmas style paintings and getting ready to create some new ones for the New Year.
‘Home For Christmas’ is the last one for this year and celebrates everything about Christmas we love. Doesn’t it look cosy :)
