Pretty Tea Cups

Do you have a pretty tea cup collection? I do lol! My Hubby tells me I have too many, but I disagree of course I do use them all so what’s the problem right?!

I have this pretty floral mug that’s quite large, it’s my fav actually, ok one of my fav’s and I do enjoy several green tea’s in it per day

So, inspired by my love of pretty mugs and tea cups, here is the first in a new mini series ‘Rose Tea Cup’ ACEO Original.

Created on brown kraft card, ACEO sized and drawn with pencils and coloured pencils, this pretty original is now available in my Etsy shop.

Do you collect pretty mugs? What’s your fav?

Blessings

Country Kitchen Art

When my customer contacted me about my paintings and said how wonderful my art looked in her kitchen I couldn’t wait to see the pictures.

Well, I just about jumped up and down when I saw them, how stunning is her kitchen and check out my paintings. They look so at home in her kitchen and it’s just wonderful to see them in a country style decor environment.

So good to see where my art in hanging up in people’s homes, what a joy!!

If you have pictures of my art in your home I’d love to see them, please drop me an email.

Ripple Blanket

Remember I started a ripple blanket for our bedroom? I started it about three times I think lol but I finally got the colours right for what I wanted and here it is!

I’m pretty slow at crochet and knitting projects because I like to dip in and out rather than work on it everyday. So I think this project is going to take a very long time. Still I love it and because it’s striping it’s really enjoyable challenging myself to get to the next colour.

I’m just finishing up the raspberry row and then will go onto the last colour, the baby pink. So pretty! Then it’s back to the baby blue. It’s going to be gorgeous when complete.

We are almost done decorating the bedroom now, just some finishing touches to do then I’ll take more pics to show you.

What are you crocheting or knitting right now?

Nesting

First came apple sauce muffins yum yum! And then…

My first fresh baguettes! What’s all this about? I hear you ask, well, my Mum gave me her Kenwood Chef recently and I’ve been so excited to try it out! Hubby keeps asking me when we are going to make our own bread, so this morning I decided to have a go. What a nice surprise that will be for him when he gets home tonight :D Providing it tastes as good as it looks lol

Yesterday I was also in the mood for making a start getting our home into shape. We have virtually the whole house to decorate and since last year was all about getting the back garden re-landscaped we didn’t have any time or resources for the rest of the house. Now we still have some landscaping left to do but since we had to stop over winter we’ve been working inside and Hubby has had loads of prep to do for the hall, landing and stairs. So we just have some plastering to do and I think we will then be ready to paint at last yay! We’ve chosen watercolour green, it’s going to look gorgeous with an off white for the wood work. Exciting stuff!

So I’ve been trawling through Flickr for more vintage inspired ideas for the other rooms of the house. I ordered some gorgeous floral fabric to make a little curtain for our cubby in the kitchen and am trying to think what else I can do with our currently very ugly windowsill. All I can do is jazz up what it’s like already with fabric and jars etc until we can makeover the whole room. I’m going to start making visiting our local thift shops a regular pastime to see what I can collect :D Fun! I need to make some sort of curtains or something to make the window pretty too. It’s a large window but very old and has a brown laminated windowsill. Perhaps I ought to take some pics next time to show you?

Anyway, I’d love to see any links to vintage style pictures, patterns, ideas etc you might have to inspire me. I love shabby chic vintage so keep an eye out for me won’t you :)

Back to painting now…

Here For You

This weekend was fantastic! We enjoyed a lovely meal and a powerful talk at our church Harvest evening and then on Sunday I did my presentation for Compassion and it went really well! You can listen to it here if you would like.

‘Here For You’ is a comforting reminder that there is always someone there for you when you need someone to lean on, to give you a hug, to let you know everything is going to be ok, more than ok!

I hope you will enjoy this new painting and look out for more to come this week.

Yummy Cupcake!

Here it is! The first of my 7 paintings finished, isn’t it cute! Just makes me want to eat it lol I love the way this one turned out, so I’m working on more in different colours. I have appropriately called it ‘Yummy’…

I will have more paintings ready for you by next week, I don’t think I will have anymore finished by the weekend since I have a presentation to prepare for for Church on Compassion and I have decided I am in the mood to tackle my studio clean up and pretty up, ready for my upcoming open studio in November yay!

Much to be done there lol I’ve just finished sorting two piles of junk and there is plenty more to sort yet. I know you know what I mean… us creative’s can never stay tidy for long ;)

Mark and I were walking Ellie and took some more stunning photos last night so look out for those appearing next week too.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Green Monsters & Cupcakes

So excited, I got treated big time today ~ my dear Mum bought me a Kenwood Smoothie Junior woohoo! If you've been following me on Daily Mile you'll know I'm getting fit and healthy and am loving creating 'Green Monsters' which are a great way to get some fruit and nutrients in, yum! Well as soon as I got home I tried it out and made a lovely smoothie with baby spinach, banana, strawberries, soy milk and ice. It was yummy and the new gadget works like a dream. I thought it might be difficult to clean as it has a pouring spout but its really easy and I couldn't be more happy with it. So now I need to try and have a green monster everyday :D Shouldn't be too hard.

If you're getting fit why not join us at Daily Mile and we can encourage eachother, it's a great way to keep track of your progress.

Remember I have a 'thing' for cupcakes? ;) Well I just LOVE to paint them! {and bake them too, but not so often now lol}

Well I am delighted to bring you another in the series 'Sparkly Delight #2' now available on Ebay, calorie free woohoo ;)

Enjoy!

Tea Time

Good morning!

Have you heard the English love their cups of tea? Tea makes everything better don't you know ;) This cute little print celebrates our love of tea and I couldn't wait to share it with you! Find it at my Etsy store now.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

Summer is here!

Remember when I started growing my sweet peas from seed back in March and they looked like this?

Well now look at them!

I am so amazed by them! To think those tiny little seeds have produced such amazing beautiful plants and strong ones at that. I'm really excited about growing plants from seed, you can see in the pic above my tomato plants have gone crazy too, they are now starting to flower so it won't be long now and they will be producing little cherry tomatoes yay!!!

Are you growing anything this year?

I'd really love to grow potatoes next, not sure when I can start those, do you know?

Aside from getting overly excited about my gardening and growing I have been working on a new painting called 'Shabby girl' and some other little goodies too. Expect to see them popping up very soon.

You may have noticed that I've been changing the layout and colours here, well I am in the process of making the whole site more in keeping with a shabby feel and I wanted more space here too, I hope you like it. I'm also working on a new gallery where you can buy my originals, this will be up soon too.

I want to say a BIG THANK YOU!!! to all of you who read, comment and buy my paintings, I really appreciate every one of you and am delighted that you enjoy my paintings so much. I feel very blessed!!!

How are you scanners getting on? Have any of you read "Refuse to Choose" yet? I'm still working my way through but almost done now and I have to say it is an amazing book. Really insightful and helpful too. Let me know your thoughts on it and what 'type' of scanner you are :)

Love to you all

New cards and bunnies!

'Cupcake' card set

'Shall we go home now?'

SOLD Thank you.

{Print available on Etsy}

Yesterday I completed 'Shall we go home now?' a cute little 5 x5" painting of two little bunnies sitting on a hill. It was inspired by a walk we had the other night overlooking a beautiful field and these two little bunnies sitting upright looking at each other, it was such a wonderful moment! This painting will be available on ebay tonight now.

Today I created a new card set, something I've been meaning to do for a while now! You can now buy my cupcake paintings together as a card set at my Etsy store or if you prefer they are all available individually also.

Last night's class was awesome, every week we are all growing and seeing life very differently, I'd highly recommend the Explored courses to any new Christians or even if you aren't a Christian yet you can go along to learn more.

Have a wonderful day, I'm off to fulfill orders and some more painting.

Oh so cute!

Today has been great! Waking up to an empty schedule for once and being able to take it easy and do whatever my heart desired! So I took advantage of the peace and quiet and got out my sketchbook and sketched out several new cuties to paint this week yay! Hubby has been busy working in the back garden creating our new patio.

I'm looking forward to a lovely evening in with possibly some knitting and some fun tv!

What are you up to this weekend?

The painting above is called 'Cupcake Princess' isn't she cute! She is now at her new home in the USA and I thought she was just too cute not to share so I've just added her as a print to my Etsy store and best of all for this weekend only she is half price! along with many other cute prints and paintings.

Have a great weekend!

Exhibition Day!

Today I went down to the local exhibition I'm in to see how things were going and I was very pleased! There is still a week to go and many of the paintings there had red dots and a lot of the cards and prints were sold too. It's so great to see people are still buying art in this economy, art really does have importance in people's lives. I always enjoy hearing how art impacts people, how does art impact your life?

Today I've been working on some new paintings, including the Oh She Glows Charity auction painting and new ones for ebay :D I'll be posting pics soon.

This little beauty is finishing tonight:
